A team of doctors from Heart Hospital in London working in cooperation with computer animators managed to develop a very realistic computer model that allows investigating the anatomy of human heart in perspectives that are not possible in real patients.

One can rotate the virtual heart around any axis and observe the organ from both inside and outside. In addition, it is possible to set a normal beat of the heart, or imitate the effects of different conditions and diseases of the organ, informs New Scientist.
According to its developers, the computer model of human heart might also help medical students better understand the organ's features and should give a helpful reference tool for heart experts.
